  • Lorenzo Tugnoli is an Italian photographer based in Barcelona, who works in the Middle East and Central Asia.
Tugnoli lived in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2015 and has returned regularly since to continue his coverage there. The Little Book of Kabul, his collaboration with writer Francesca Recchia was pubished in 2014, and depicts Kabul through the daily lives of the artists in the city. Between 2015 and 2022 he was based in Beirut, Lebanon . A contract photographer for The Washington Post, his work has also been published in The New Yorker, Time Magazine, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, amongst others. Tugnoli was the Pulitzer Prize Winner in Feature Photography in 2019, his work was recognised by World Press Photo Awards in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and was first place in the Bayeux Calvados Normandy Award in 2021.
