Teatro Colón in Bogota to host the launch of Sangre Blanca by Mads Nissen

On April 14, The Teatro Colón at the National Arts Center is hosting the launch of Sangre Blanca, a project by renowned Danish photojournalist and World Press Photo winner Mads Nissen, in collaboration with Colombian artist Juan Manuel Arreaza.

The book, published next month by GOST, brings together years of research and visual creation to trace the global route of cocaine—from production areas in Latin America to consumption hubs in Europe—and reveal the human consequences of this economy that crosses borders, bodies, and lives.

The event will begin with a talk by Mads Nissen on the book’s creative process and his experience documenting this reality in various contexts around the world. This will be followed by a discussion with some of the authors of the forewords—María Jimena Duzán, Luis Chaparro, Henrik Vigh, and Santiago Rivas—who will offer perspectives from journalism and academia to broaden the discussion on memory, violence, and global responsibility.

This event is made possible thanks to the support of the Danish Embassy, bringing together art, journalism, and critical reflection in one of the country’s most iconic venues.
