• The Unseen – GOST Books Publishing Award aims to foster photographic work through the production of a photo book. Unseen Amsterdam is dedicated to the latest developments in contemporary photography. Unseen and GOST  —collaborating for this award  —are interested in seeing previously unpublished work from unexpected perspectives and different backgrounds, with photographers making use of the medium in innovative, intelligent, inspiring and provocative ways. The last edition of the prize saw 353 entrants apply for the awards from over 40 countries.

The winner for the last award was Jaclyn Wright for ‘High Visibility (Blaze Orange)’. Her project uses debris collected from improvised gun ranges on public lands in Utah’s West Desert to create photographic installations exploring the intersections of photography, capitalism, and settler colonialism.

The winner received a photo book designed, edited, printed and published by Unseen/ GOST imprint, including distribution, press and promotion. The winner also receives a portion of personal copies of the book from the first print run.
