The Unseen – GOST Books Publishing Award aims to foster photographic work through the production of a photo book. The call for entries is now open and will close on 22 August 2022. The winner will be announced in Autumn 2022 during Unseen Amsterdam Photography Fair.

Unseen Amsterdam is dedicated to the latest developments in contemporary photography. Unseen and GOST  —collaborating for this new award  —are interested in seeing previously unpublished work from unexpected perspectives and different backgrounds, with photographers making use of the medium in innovative, intelligent, inspiring and provocative ways.

The award is open to any artist working in the medium of photography of any age. The entry fee is 35 euro.

The jury for the award includes Amak Mahmoodian—Artist, Izabela Radwanska Zhang—Editorial Director of the British Journal of Photography, Kenneth Dickerman—Photo Editor for The Washington Post , Lisa Springer—Curator of Photography Touring Exhibitions at the V&A Museum, and Rafał Milach— Photographer, Visual Artist and Educator. They will be joining Roderick van der Lee—Founding Director of Unseen and Stuart Smith—Director and Founder of GOST. One further jury member will be announced shortly.

The winner will receive a photo book designed, edited, printed and published by Unseen/ GOST imprint, including distribution, press and promotion. The winner also receives a portion of personal copies of the book from the first print run.
